Fall 2019 AAU Season


When are tryouts for the season?

There will be tryout sessions.  Session 1 on Saturday August 3rd and Session 2 on Sunday August 11th.  Players do not have to attend both sessions.

What if a player cannot make it to either session?

We will be holding a Makeup tryout session on Wednesday August 21st.  If you are interested in trying out for the program but can’t make any of the tryout sessions, please email us at as soon as possible. 

Who is eligible to tryout?

All boy and girl basketball players in grades 2 – 12 are eligible to tryout (ages 7 - 18). 

When does the season start?

Practices will start the first week of September immediately after labor day.

How long does the season last?

The length of season will vary slightly from team to team but will most likely run for 8 weeks ending in late October. 

How often will the team practice?

This may vary depending on the team, but most teams will practice once per week during the fall season. 

When will the team practice?

Teams will have practice start times between 6pm and 7:30pm on weekday evenings (usually younger teams will have younger time slots).  The day of the week that each team will practice on has not been set yet but will be soon.

Where will the team practice?

Our 2 most common practice sites are Thurston Middle School in Westwood and the Charles River School in Dover.  There are several other facilities that we will potentially use as well. 

When will the games be?

Games will be played in weekend tournaments.  The amount of tournaments entered will vary from team to team but will mostly be between 3 and 4 tournaments for a team.  Each team will usually play in 3 - 4 games during a tournament (typically 2 games on Saturday and 1 - 2 games on Sunday). 

Where will the tournaments be?

Tournament locations will vary, but the most common locations are Foxboro, Stoughton, or Waltham. 

How much does the season cost?

The final cost will vary from team to team (typically younger teams cost less than older teams).  The average cost per player will be between $350 - $425 for the season fee. 

Are there any programs do reduce the player’s season fee?

Yes, we have several different programs that can help you reduce a player’s season fee.  We offer a Scholarship Program, Sibling Program, Sponsorship Program, and Referral Program.  Check out the info for each program below, if you have any questions about any of the programs, send us an email at

  • Scholarship Program – families in tough financial situations may be eligible to get a significantly reduced player season fee. 

  • Sibling Program – if multiple siblings are playing for our program at the same time, each of your children’s season fee will be reduced.

  • Sponsorship Program – if you recruit a business to become a program sponsor, your child’s season fee will be reduced. 

  • Referral Program – if you recruit new players to tryout for our program, your child’s season fee will be reduced by $10 per recruited player. 

What uniforms will the players wear?

We will be using the same uniform design that we had this past Spring season with black shorts with our logo and black and white tops with red trim and players’ last names on the back.  Players that kept there uniform from the Spring can use that same uniform again this season.

Who will be coaching the team?
