Varsity League - Week 6

This week’s Varsity Spring League saw close games across the board with all 3 games being decided by single digits.  It also saw 2 teams capture their first win of the season, one of those teams being Walpole getting the first win of the night over Holliston (60-55).  In game 2, Westwood held on for a 9 point win over Foxboro (53-44).  The final matchup was the closest game of the night.  This back and forth game between Needham and Norwood ended with Norwood getting a huge 3 point win (50-47) over the previously 4-1 Needham Rockets.

Next week is the final week of the regular season and it is also RIVARLY WEEK with all 3 games pitting league rivals against one another.  Game 1 will see Tri-Valley League foes Westwood and Holliston face-off.  Game 2 is a matchup between Hockomock rivals Foxboro and Franklin, with Franklin trying to close out the regular season undefeated.  Finally, game 3 will have arch-rivals from the Bay State Conference face-off with the always entertaining matchup of Walpole vs. Norwood.  This week will be huge for teams jockeying for playoff seeding.  All games will be held at Westwood High School.

Needham's Matt McKay (NESB-17U player) takes a jumper from the top of the key vs Norwood.
